Red Imported Fire Ant Activities (RIFA) & Quarantine Information
Orange County is currently within the regulated Red Imported Fire Ant Federal Quarantine area. Various areas throughout the county have been found to be infested with this invasive pest and eradication efforts are underway by the Orange County Vector Control District. As part of this effort, the California Department of Food and Agriculture has established a toll-free RIFA Hotline to report any suspect ant locations. Anyone finding suspected Red Imported Fire Ants should report them to the hotline at 1-800-491-1899.
