Putting the Puzzle Together (7 hours). This program is designed to provide mandated reporters with insights into the role of Child Protective Services after a Child Abuse Report has been received. The training follows a case from the initial Child Abuse Report through the Juvenile Court process. A tour of Orangewood Children's Home and observation of a mock trial are also included in this training. Lunch 'N Learn Presentations, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (one hour), held the first Thursday each month. Monthly educational lectures, which focus on a variety of topics related to child abuse identification, prevention and intervention services, child health and wellness, and medical issues related to child abuse. Law Enforcement Quarterly, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (one hour), meets every three months. A quarterly-meeting hosted by the CAST District Attorney for all law enforcement officers and Probation and Social Services staff. This on-site meeting provides legal updates, training, and a forum for the exchange of information between different law enforcement agencies. Guest speakers lecture on a variety of relevant topics.
