As an employer, you can partner with us in our mission to "enhance the quality of life for children and families by establishing and enforcing court orders for the financial and medical support of children in an effective, efficient, and professional manner".

Employers are vitally important in assuring that children in our county, and throughout the state, are provided with the support they need to live in a financially stable environment. As a partner with CSS, you can help by following the statutory mandate to promptly withhold child support from your employee's paycheck, and by sending timely payments to our office.

California Family Code Section 5230 mandates that child support payments be made through wage withholding. We hope that this website will be of help to you in understanding your legal obligations.
