A comprehensive system allowing title and escrow companies, financial institutions and others to record property documents electronically has been awarded a 2010 Achievement Award by the National Association of Counties. The system is co-owned by the counties of Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego.

The Orange Coast chapter of the Society for Advancement of Management has chosen Orange County Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly as its 44th Manager of the Year. Daly earned the honor through his leadership in customer service and cost-efficiencies as Orange County Clerk-Recorder since 2002, as well as for his accomplishments as mayor of Anaheim from 1992 to 2002.

More than 100,000 people have used the convenient south Orange County branch office of the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department since it opened four years ago. The patron milestone was reached earlier this month.

Planning to travel this summer? Apply for your passport now and avoid the rush! The Clerk-Recorder Department offers passport services at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana, 211 W. Santa Ana Boulevard, in Room 202. The courthouse is open weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., except county holidays. As an added convenience, passport photos can be purchased on the spot for $15.

Eager couples flocked to Fullerton on Valentine’s Day to tie the knot on the sweetest day of the year. Three dozen couples were married on Feb. 14, after Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly opened the Fullerton branch office on a Sunday especially for the weddings. Couples came from as far away as Canada and San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles and Imperial counties.

Santa Ana Blvd. in Santa Ana.

To accommodate couples, Orange County Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly will open his Fullerton office for wedding ceremonies on Valentine’s Day even though it falls on a Sunday when the office normally is closed.
