GREEN JOBS CORPS
EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
On March 16, 2009 Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger launched the California Green Jobs Corps in continuing his work to revive California's economy while helping young people develop job skills for the emerging green economy.
The Orange County Green Jobs Corps (OCGJC) will train youth and young adults (ages 16 to 24) for a variety of green careers in eco-friendly industries and contribute as volunteers to create greener communities. Corps members will receive pre-employment, work maturity and life skills training and will participate in specialized education programs on civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A GREEN JOBS CORPS WORKSITE?
As a worksite, you will facilitate work experience opportunities in eco-friendly industries to help in the green job skills training and education of Corps members.
All youth salaries will be paid by the Green Jobs Corps project.
Workers compensation will be covered by the County of Orange.
Payroll will be handled by the County of Orange.
Youth will be screened by the Green Jobs Corps staff.
Youth will be matched based on career interest and goals.

Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Economic Stimulus). OCGJC is
administered by the Orange County Workforce Investment Board and Youth Council
