Eliminating Racial Disparities and Disproportionality (ERDD)

Our Mission: Ensure Fair Treatment and Equitable Services to All..

ERDD is an Advisory Group. It is a collaborative, made up of various community partners and stakeholders. These include the local Child Abuse Prevention CouncilProbation DepartmentDepartment of EducationMexican Consulate, youth and reunified birth parents.

Our community partners and stakeholders come together to examine the over or under representation of minority children in Social Services Agency Children and Family Services Dependency as compared to their representation in the general population. This group is also tasked with developing strategies and recommendations to remedy this issue.

Definitions: DISPARITY is the disparate or inequitable treatment or services provided to children of color (non-White) compared to those provided to similarly situated (e.g., socio-economic status) White children. 

DISPROPORTIONALITY is the over- or under-representation of children of color in foster care and child welfare compared to their representation in the general population.
