At 3:02am on Saturday, February 27, the National Weather Service issued a Tsunami Advisory for coastal Orange County due to a magnitude 8.8 earthquake off the coast of Chile. A tsunami capable of causing significant damage to coastal areas is NOT expected; however, strong currents may be present along beaches and other coastal areas beginning at approximately 12:02pm today.
