Dependent Eligibility Audit

The dependent eligibility audit is currently underway.  Aon Consulting Services has been retained to assist in conducting the audit.  If employees are experiencing any difficulty or particular challenges securing the necessary documents to confirm dependent eligibility, representatives of Aon will be available at 1-866-641-5651, code 1208, to provide employees with guidance on how to obtain those documents.

During the audit period, which concludes September 14, 2009, employees and retirees will be required to provide a signed affidavit as well as copies of requested documentation confirming the eligibility of dependents for coverage under County of Orange health plans and/or the Management/Attorney dental plan. Click here for a list of eligibility definitions and required documentation. It is important to note that failure to respond with complete information will result in the removal of all dependents from County health plans and/or the Management/Attorney dental plan effective January 1, 2010. Once removed from coverage, eligible dependents cannot be re-enrolled until the 2010 Open Enrollment period and their benefits would not become effective until January 1, 2011 (unless there is a qualifying event as defined by IRS regulations).
