BearPaw Preserve

Bearpaw 1   bp 5

BearPaw Preserve provides a safe, intimate environment where human relations can be enhanced through contact with nature. Activities at the BearPaw Preserve strengthen and deepen connections among diverse students by providing overnight accommodations for human relations retreats. At these retreats representatives of school community members work collaboratively towards creating and sustaining a safe, inclusive school climate that is respectful of society's diversity.

Expert OC Human Relations staff teach advanced human relations skills in such areas as facilitating group dialogues, conflict resolution, leadership training, and task force development. A variety of training techniques such as artistic projects, discussions, role-playing, multi-media presentations and guest speakers are used to involve and engage students in their human relations training experience.

Interwoven activities throughout the retreats include hiking tours, campfires, talent shows, nature workshops, a lower ropes course challenge and outdoor education. Each retreat is supervised by a Human Relations Specialist.
