Students Say:
"Workshops at WIMS should be at every high school; all information is so vital to today's youth."
"I think this day was absolutely wonderful; I am more aware of issues around us today and I could spread that awareness in my school and community."
"It was very inspiring - I want to stop the stereotyping at my school."
Twice annually, OC Human Relations brings together schools from all over Orange County to attend a day long youth conference. Participants explore issues of identity and culture, develop their leadership skills and be exposed to examples of successful youth activism. Our goal is to emplower and mobilize students to work towards creating positive social change.
Students attend three one-hour workshops, choosing from over 20 different thought provoking sessions related to the broad theme of "human relations". Youth and experienced human relations presenters share their insights, experiences and expertise on subjects related to the theme.
