Santa Ana Building Healthy Communities

The California Endowment selected Santa Ana as one of 14 California places to receive a sustained, community-driven investment for ten years starting in 2010.

OC Human Relations was selected as the applicant agency and led the initial planning and application process.  This involved mobilizing community engagement outreach, empowering residents to participate as owners in this process and strengthening the Steering Committee to move towards deeper collaboration and sustainability towards a successful ten year initiative.

The project is making a tremendous impact on the lives of residents in Santa Ana and in transforming the community through innovation and policy and systems change.
