Input Sought on Public Participation Plan for County Redistricting
The County's redistricting committee will meet next week to receive public comment on the draft public participation plan for the upcoming redrawing of boundaries of the five Supervisorial Districts. The new Districts will be drawn using 2000 Census data to be released in April.
The group will meet at 2 p.m., Feb. 21, in the Board hearing room located on the first floor of the Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana.
The Board of Supervisors established the redistricting committee in October to guide the redistricting process and develop recommendations utilizing the 2000 Census. The current districts were established in 1991 using 1990 Census data.
The committee is composed of representatives from each Supervisorial District .
The members include committee chairman James Campbell of the First District; vice chairman Paul Hernandez of the Third District; Nina Hull, Second District; Dean Olsen, Fourth District and Holly Veale, Fifth District.
