MEDIA ADVISORY Ceremony Salutes Military Heroes WHAT: Dedication of plaques honoring 11 military heroes by AMVETS and the County of Orange. WHEN: Friday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. WHERE: Civic Center Plaza area, northwest of the Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana. WHY: In recognition of the upcoming Veterans Day, 11 military heroes will be saluted during the dedication of plaques. The heroes include six Navy Cross recipients, four Distinguished Service Cross recipients and one Air Force Cross recipient. Honorees span a period from World War II to Desert Storm. WHO: Chaplain Hal Camp, Orange County AMVETS - Master of Ceremonies Chairman Bill Campbell, Board of Supervisors - Special Guest. AMVETS is a national organization of men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
