Dana Point Harbor Department Director Resigns (Santa Ana, CA) - County Executive Officer Thomas G. Mauk today accepted the resignation of George Caravalho, Dana Point Harbor Department Director. The resignation is effective June 30, 2007. Caravalho was appointed Director of the Dana Point Harbor Department in March 2005. Dana Point Harbor Department was established as a separate County department to coordinate the 20-year harbor revitalization plan for the aging facilities. “It has been a pleasure working with George and I appreciate the leadership and talent that he has exhibited in forming the Dana Point Harbor Department and advancing the Commercial Core and Marina Revitalization projects,” said Mauk. “We will now start the process to select a new department head in order to have a smooth transition period.” ###
