New Deputy CEO for Government & Public Services Begins
(Santa Ana, CA)—County Executive Officer Thomas G. Mauk announced the appointment of Steve Dunivent as Deputy County Executive Officer for Government and Public Services for the County of Orange. His appointment was made October 18, 2007.
As head of Government and Public Services he will oversee six departments: Child Support Services, Health Care Agency, Orange County Public Library, Probation, Public Defender and the Social Services Agency.
Dunivent joined the County in 1976 and has served as County Budget Director for the past ten years. He has also overseen the preparation and development of the County’s Strategic Financial Plan. Before joining the County Executive Office in 1997, he held successively increased responsibilities for the County’s Environmental Management and General Service Agencies. During his first 15 years with the County he held financial-related position with various County agencies.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Dunivent is a resident of Lake Forest.
“Steve brings a solid background to this key management position in the County Executive Office,” said Mauk. “He has the right combination of experience and financial acumen to successfully lead Government and Public Services for the County.”
