The American Heart Association is a not-for-profit, voluntary health organization. Its mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The CDC is the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Service. Their website offers a wealth of information for consumers and professionals in many languages. Topics include diseases and conditions; healthy living; emergency preparedness and response; workplace safety and health; environmental health and traveler’s health; life stages and populations; free publications, and more.

Healthcare 411

Healthcare 411 is an audio podcast series produced and sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Their website gives consumers information they can use in their health care decision making process. AHRQ shares news and information in the form of 60-second audio news programs that feature current research on important health care topics. Users can also download the news to a mobile media device or computer by subscribing at no cost.

HealthFinder: Health News

HealthFinder is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website that provides a gateway to selected consumer health information.
