At nearly 13,000 square feet, the Foothill Ranch Library opened to the public for the first time on February 1, 2003. It is the 31st branch in the OC Libraries system. Foothill Ranch Library has a special KidZone area for use by parents and toddlers. It also contains a young adult section, a literacy office, a Friends of the Library used book store, and a quiet study area. In addition, the property houses a community room that can seat 100 people, built with funds jointly provided by the County and the City of Lake Forest.
Public services include seasonal story times for toddlers and preschool-age children, craft programs for school-age children, free access to the Internet at any one of the 26 public PCs, wireless connection, a summer reading program, and of course, books, large-print materials, DVDs, and books on CD for all ages.
The library was designed by Robert Coffee Associates & Architects in consultation with the Foothill Ranch Company, the group representing local residents.
