Your Community Needs You! Join The Team!!

Hundreds of volunteers and a non-profit support group help the Orange County Probation Department in its mission to enhance community safety. Probation volunteers work in a variety of assignments, often directly with youth and adult probationers. Their volunteer service is rewarding as they help to turn lives around, thereby reducing the threat posed by convicted criminal offenders. Through volunteer programs and the non-profit Probation Community Action Association, Orange County residents can directly be part of the solution to crime.

Volunteers in Probation (VIP) program -- Probation's largest volunteer program with no minimum time commitment for service. A brief program orientation is provided.

Volunteer Probation Officer (VPO) program -- Involves a deeper level of participation, including night training classes and a commitment of at least 20 hours per month of volunteer work for a year.
Volunteer Internship Academy -- Santa Ana College in collaboration with the Orange County Probation Department presents VIA #4 (Volunteer Internship Academy) for those interested in seeking employment with the Orange County Probation Department.
Probation Community Action Association (PCAA) -- Probation's non-profit support group. This organization conducts activities aimed at promoting the Probation Department and raising money to underwrite anti-crime programs.
