In-Home Supportive Services provides a wide range of domestic and personal care services to allow disabled and elderly individuals to live safely at home.
Adult Protective Services provides services to prevent or remedy neglect, abuse, or exploitation of adults who are unable to protect their own interests because of age or disability.
Aid Programs
General Relief provides temporary cash assistance to eligible indigent adults and to certain legal immigrants.
Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants provides cash to certain aged, blind, or disabled legal non-citizens ineligible to Supplemental Security Income/State Supplemental Payment (SSI/SSP) due to their immigration status.
Food Stamp Program is a Federal nutrition program that helps eligible low-income people purchase the food they need for good health.
Public Health Insurance
Medi-Cal is a health insurance program for eligible low-income families, children, disabled adults ages 21 years through 64 years, and persons 65 years or older.
Medical Services Initiative is a health insurance safety net program for adults (21 to 64).
Healthy Families is a State of California health insurance program that provides families not eligible for free Medi-Cal with low cost health coverage for the children.
Medicare is a Federal health insurance program for people age 65 or older. Certain people younger than age 65 may also qualify.
