MANDATORY EVACUATIONS ISSUED IN YORBA LINDA

Mandatory evacuations have been issued in the City of Yorba Linda for the following areas:

• Box Canyon
• Brush Canyon
• North Fairmont/San Antonio

These mandatory evacuations have been issued due to potentially dangerous mud and debris flows as a result of the amount of rain in the burn areas.

The City of Yorba Linda has opened the Thomas Lasorda Field House at 4701 Casa Loma Avenue for displaced residents.  Animals are permitted at the Thomas Lasorda Field House or they may be brought to OC Animal Care Services at 561 The City Drive South in Orange.

Residents may receive emergency alerts on their cell phones and e-mail addresses by registering online  at www.alertoc.com.    The phone numbers registered will be called only if the registered address is affected by an emergency situation.  More evacuation information is available on the City of Yorba Linda’s Web site at www.ci.yorba-linda.ca.us.
